Handcrafted from premium porcelain clay in New Hampshire, USA, our 4.5" ripple soap dish is shaped by a skilled artisan using traditional wheel-thrown techniques. Each piece balances function and form, serving as both a soap rest and a sculptural element within the bath.
The rippled surface draws inspiration from patterns found in nature, echoing the movement of water, wind, and time across sand and stone. These gentle contours create natural channels for drainage, allowing soap to dry while adding a sense of flow to the space.
From raw clay to finished piece, the process unfolds slowly. The clay is wedged, thrown, trimmed, dried, bisque fired, glazed by hand in layered applications, and fired again at over 2,300°F. Subtle variations in shape and surface emerge through this process, making each dish one of a kind.
